Bio
Gyasi Brandon Govan, was born in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. He was born into a very talented family, a mother who has a singing career (www.TGovan.com), and an athletic father who grew up playing in bands and today plays multiple instruments.
Growing up in a tough neighborhood, Gyasi found himself at an early age being attracted to bad influences and endured family problems. His parents parted ways when he was 10 years old.
Going through school he was often the laughing stock, being made fun of and bullied upon due to his relatively small stature. As high school came around, he began to mature and look past all the laughter and jokes, pursuing a number of activities throughout his high school years: football, basketball, swimming, gymnastics, break dancing, capoeira (a form of Brazilian martial arts), music, and drawing just to name a few. He is kinesthetic and drawn more to the arts and sports versus his academic studies. As talented as he was, his grades slipped behind. Barely graduating high school, college was out of the question, and Gyasi had no money, a lousy job, and a lost mind. But he was indeed a unique human being, and continued to grow inside as a person. He never gave up, and he continues to further his knowledge and continue to push forward with his own ideas and beliefs.
Gyasi is an artist and still enjoys and participates in sports and the arts - break dancing, hanging out with good friends and positive people, playing and producing music, and traveling internationally.
Throughout his life, Gyasi plans to continue to travel the world to explore and experience other cultures and nationalities. He is by nature an artist and a very compassionate human being who enjoys helping people. His objective is to use his image and his experiences to positively impact young people of all cultures to inspire them to pursue their dreams, to excel and to achieve throughout their lives. |
